Custom Data Application Lead

Annual Salary: $90,000 – $110,000

This position will be responsible for the design and development of a custom analytics application for a Fortune 100 company utilizing our OroBI platform. Candidate will interface with the customer team to evaluate and estimate requirements for application changes, as well as work with members of the Salient and customer teams to implement and test the application. Qualified candidates must possess an understanding of databases, ETL flow, and building reports and visualizations. Previous experience with JavaScript and SQL, as well as basic .NET/IIS application maintenance on Windows Server platforms is required.

This full-time position will be remote, with potential need for occasional travel to our HQ in Horseheads, NY, or to client site.

Education / Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science preferred
  • 5 years professional software development experience
  • Experience in working with directly with teams from customer organizations

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer team to evaluate and estimate requirements for new features and/or changes
  • Lead development of changes to application as well as testing prior to delivery to customer test environment
  • Work with other members of the Salient and team as needed for additional development help and testing
  • Assist customer team with application verification as needed
  • Coordinate with customer team on implementation of modifications between multiple customer environments
  • Assist support with technical issues as needed

Required Skills or Knowledge:

  • Proven experience and proficiency in B2B technical Sales and/or platform solution selling specifically tailored for the Grocery Retail industry.
  • Strong Industry Network: A well-established network of key decision-makers and influencers within the grocery retail sector, with a proven ability to engage and cultivate relationships to generate new business opportunities.
  • Proficiency in lead generation techniques, including market research, cold calling, networking events, and online sales engagement platforms. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to articulate value propositions and influence decision-makers.
  • Ability to compile a solution, structure orders/contracts (write the project scopes/deliverables), and secure client prospects.
  • Ability to negotiate and close a deal.
  • Strong selling, negotiating, and presentation skills. 
  • Self-driven and results-oriented with a strong will to succeed.
