Guy Amisano started in CPG as an operator running a large bottling franchise territory in New York. He founded Salient to help that organization better manage customer profitability by reconciling transactions with off-invoice trade spend, cost-to-serve and other spending to get a true picture of dead-net profitability. To improve upon those figures, operational managers needed an ability to drill into root causes which is why he invented “Margin Minder,” the original Salient application.
